Trying to play Secret of Mana with my kids has been an exercise of frustration as every other input is dropped. The other big issue about the paddles is their USB adapter disconnects constantly. They are both fully charged and only one paddle has this problem. I think they reversed that logic or something, because one of the paddles keeps turning off after only a few seconds of no input and the only way to get it back on is to push the start button. The instructions say that the controllers enter standby mode after 5 seconds and sleep mode after no input for 10 minutes. They seemed to do pretty good at first, but as I was playing with a different controller model than my kids were, I didn't realize just how bad they were until I had to use one of them instead of my normal paddle when playing with my kids earlier this week. I bought these hoping to give my kids a little bit of classic experience playing some of the games I grew up playing.

I purchased a pair of these in April 2021. If you want something better quality, 8bitdo makes really great products, but for a cheap set of controllers that work pretty good, you could get worse. I would recommend the seller make this clear in the listing as it is easy to lose the manual. The light on the top will blink red rapidly, THEN turn on your system with the adapter plugged in.

Pairing is pretty easy, but just for reference, you need to press the start, select and up keys all at the same time. I probably wouldn't want to get into a super competitive Street Fighter 2 Turbo match on it. The material is inexpensive but true to the original form. This can be an issue when dealing with extremely precise platforming. Having a single set of controllers for both Nintendo Mini consoles as well as the raspberry pi is pretty nice. The battery is a 250mah, so it won't last forever, but does good over a few hours of gameplay. They don't get a megaton of use, but they do indeed work. I've had these gamepads for nearly 3 years.
